Embark on a day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira, commencing with a scenic drive through the Amazigh village. On this route, you’ll pass through an argan tree forest, where you might spot goats engaging in the unusual act of climbing trees.
Our first stop will be at a local women’s co-operative, providing you with insights into the process of extracting argan oil, also known as Moroccan oil. Upon arriving in Essaouira, we’ll visit the bustling fishing port, where you can witness local fishermen returning with their fresh catch. Don’t miss a visit to Skala Kasbah, a historic fortress with wartime significance.
Explore the charming art galleries scattered throughout Essaouira’s medina and take a leisurely stroll through the medina itself. Notably, the streets in Essaouira’s medina differ from those found in other Moroccan cities, making it particularly easy to navigate.
Savor a delicious seafood lunch at the harbor, and afterwards, take a beachfront walk to observe the local boys in action. If you opt for a guided city tour, your driver can assist you in hiring a local guide.
As the day winds down, we’ll return to Marrakech by car, with an estimated arrival back in the late afternoon. Your full-day excursion to Essaouira concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the nearest accessible location to your Riad by car.
